Sylantro Systems Wins The VON Magazine Innovator Award
VON Magazine recognizes Sylantro’s role as innovator in hosted unified communications and collaboration
Campbell, Calif. March 18, 2008 Sylantro Systems, provider of the leading Multiplay Application Feature Server platform that enables rich IP communication services, today announced it has been awarded the 2008 VON Magazine Innovator Award. This award places Sylantro among a distinguished list of companies representing the future of the Internet Communications industry. Sylantro was selected for its Synergy Collaboration Gateway, which is the first commercially deployed, hosted, multi-tenant, carrier-grade product in its category to integrate with Microsoft’s Enhanced VoIP Services (EVS) for service providers. “The VON Magazine Innovator Awards recognize the Internet Communications industry’s best and brightest companies, and we’re pleased to include Sylantro as an inaugural winner,” said Bill Sell, Publisher, VON Media Group. “Sylantro should take pride in their accomplishment, because the selection committee unanimously felt that Sylantro stood apart from the large field of companies that participated in the nomination process.” Sylantro introduced the Synergy Collaboration Gateway to deliver a seamless, voice-enabled Microsoft EVS collaboration experience, leveraging the advanced voice capabilities of the Synergy platform with Microsoft’s desktop collaboration experience. The result is a fundamental change to the way business users utilize their desktop and phone; and helps to further validate the traction and direction of Unified Communications. The hosted EVS offering integrates best-of-breed Microsoft business productivity software, including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Live Communications Server, Microsoft Office Communicator and Microsoft SharePoint Server, with the power of VoIP. “Microsoft chose to work with Sylantro based on the company’s thought leadership and innovation in hosted unified communications and collaboration services, and we are very excited to see Sylantro recognized by VON Magazine for the same reason,” said Michael O’Hara, general manager of the Communications Sector at Microsoft. “As our first partner on the EVS initiative, Sylantro has played a key role in helping us shape and deliver on our vision for hosted unified communications and collaboration services.” “Sylantro is excited and honored to be distinguished as a VON Magazine innovator,” said Marco Limena, CEO of Sylantro Systems. “In 2005 we made a bet on unified communications in investing ahead of our industry in the Synergy Collaboration Gateway. We are pleased to see our vision being realized commercially and recognized by the industry. The Collaboration Gateway opens up new avenues in voice-enabled business productivity and further delivers on our vision of reinventing voice.” Limena and other Sylantro executives will attend the award ceremony at Spring VON.x on March 18th at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time in the VON Theatre on the Expo floor.
